FAQ
What should I wear / bring on a tour?
It depends on the tour — visit our What to Expect page for a full breakdown. In general: dress in layers, wear sturdy footwear, bring a rain jacket, sunscreen, bug spray, and plenty of water. We'll also send a tailored packing list when you book.
Is there a minimum age for tours?
Disc golf and Family Hikes welcome all ages. Please mention the ages of any children in your group when booking so we can confirm the best trail fit.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel up to 72 hours before your tour for a full refund. Cancellations within 72 hours receive a 50% refund. No-shows are non-refundable. If we cancel due to unsafe weather or conditions, you receive a full refund or a free reschedule — your choice.
How does payment work?
Payment is handled securely through Bookeo, powered by Stripe. Full payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your spot. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and major debit cards.
Do you offer private and custom tours?
Yes — private bookings are available for any of our three tour types. If you have a specific request (a custom route, a special occasion, a large group), send us an email at waywardbirdie@proton.me and we'll put something together for you.
What happens if the weather is bad on my tour day?
We monitor forecasts closely and will contact you the evening before if conditions look borderline. Light rain doesn't cancel a hike — we're Yukoners. But if conditions are genuinely unsafe we'll cancel and offer a full refund or a free reschedule. Your safety always comes first.
Do you accommodate accessibility needs?
We do our best. Disc golf and some Family Hike options are adaptable for guests with limited mobility. Please email us before booking to describe your needs and we'll be honest about what's possible and make every reasonable accommodation.
I don't see the date I want — can I request one?
If a date shows as unavailable or isn't listed, email us at waywardbirdie@proton.me. We can sometimes accommodate additional dates, especially for private groups, and we keep a waitlist for popular slots.
