Wayward Birdie Tours ("we," "us," or "our") is a sole proprietorship owned and operated by Chad Cote, based in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our guests and website visitors. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

We collect only the personal information necessary to provide our guided tour services and respond to inquiries. This may include:

- Booking details: your preferred tour date(s), group size, and any special requests or requirements you share with us.
- Health and safety information: relevant medical conditions or physical limitations you voluntarily disclose to help us provide a safe experience.
- Communications: the content of emails or messages you send us.
We do not collect payment card information directly. Any payments processed in connection with your booking are handled through secure third-party payment systems and are subject to their respective privacy policies.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected, including:
- Responding to your inquiries and booking requests.
- Confirming, scheduling, and coordinating your tour.
- Sending pre-tour information such as what to wear, what to bring, and meeting point details.
- Communicating any changes to your booking, including weather-related cancellations or rescheduling.
- Following up after your tour if you have questions or concerns.
- Complying with legal obligations.
We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling. We do not send marketing emails unless you have explicitly requested them, and you can opt out at any time by emailing us.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not share your information with marketers, data brokers, or advertising networks.
We may disclose your personal information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Legal requirement: when required to do so by law, court order, or lawful request from a government authority.
- Safety: when necessary to protect the safety of you, our guide, or others, such as in a medical emergency where emergency services must be contacted.

Booking-related records are typically retained for up to two years after your tour date to address any follow-up questions or legal obligations. Email correspondence may be retained for up to one year. You may request deletion of your information at any time (see Section 6 below).
5. Cookies and Local Storage
This website does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics platforms that collect personally identifiable information. The only browser storage we use is a single localStorage key (wbt-theme) that stores your light/dark theme preference so the site remembers your display choice between visits. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us.
You can clear this data at any time through your browser's settings.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Withdrawal of consent: withdraw your consent to our use of your personal information at any time (subject to legal and contractual restrictions).
- Deletion: request that we delete your personal information, where we are not legally required to retain it.

If you believe your privacy rights have not been respected, you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
7. Security
We take reasonable precautions to protect your personal information from loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, or modification. Our email correspondence is handled through ProtonMail, which provides end-to-end encryption. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
